This coming-of-age story is near and dear to my heart, not just because I own an autographed copy, but because it is more than just the average coming-of-age story. Ms. Trice carefully crafts a world that is juxtaposed against itself while telling the story of two young girls and their very different lives and destinies. Set against an urban backdrop, she draws you into places that are both familiar and uncomfortable and, by the time the end comes, you are almost ready to start the journey...

    The first time I read this book was a decade ago after randomly walking into a bookstore where the author was signing copies. I was just as impressed with it then as I was recently when my book club read and discussed the book. I see no comments posted and was just wondering if I was alone in liking, or even having read, the book?
