• Clara: The main protagonist. Angel-blood. Moves to Wyoming to fulfill her purpose. She has an obsession with Christian because he features in her purpose but finds herself also drawn to Tucker her best friend Wendy's brother.
• Christian Prescott: The mysterious boy from Clara's vision.
• Tucker Avery: The rugged-cowboy type who really gets under Clara's skin. He's always picking on Clara. Tucker is Wendy's twin brother.
• Wendy Avery: Tucker's sister and Clara's best friend.
• Jeffrey Gardner: Clara's little brother, uses his angelic ability to dominate all things sports-related. He is only 15 in this book.
• Angela Zerbino: A girl at Clara's new school who unexpectedly becomes a friend. Another Angel-Blood. She is a didimus which means she has half angel- blood. Her mother is Anna Zerbino.
• Maggie Gardner: Clara's mother, a half-angel who is over 100 years old. Very secretive about her Angel-Blood history but she has some sort of history with a Black Wing. She is a didimus like Angela.
• Mr. Erikson: Clara, Tucker, Angela and Christian's British History teacher.
• Mr. Phibbs: Clara and Wendy's Honor English teacher.
• Kay Patterson: Christian Prescott's girlfriend in the beginning of the book. One of the Populars.
• Shawn Davidson: Christian's snowboarding friend.
• Emma: One of the Invisibles.
• Brady Hunt: Captain of the football team, King Brady in Clara's British History class. Christian's Partner for the class project.
• Murphy: Tucker's boss at his river rafting job.
