This is a magnificent biography. If you think you know everything about Virginia Woolf, or couldn't be interested in her--read on! Hermoine Lee is a first-rate rsearcher and a fascinating writer. When I read it, I felt as if she had re-invented the genre of biography for me and reawakened my interest in academic biographies. She has also written biographies on Willa Cather and Edith Wharton.
