It serves as an introduction to DeLillo's longer fiction, such as the brilliant 'Libra' - about the assassin of President Kennedy, and the monumental 'Underworld' - a vast panorama of America through scattered individuals during the Cold war. He shows in these books a wide understanding and insight into American society and into our own age. A great writer.”
