I like Tharoor's style and ability to write on almost anything. In this book he tries to cover 53 years of post independence India rather romantically. Unfortunately he has blacked out a colossus of Indian foreign policy in the Nehru era namely V K Krishna Menon who fought India's battles with Pakistan in the international arena, and UN in particular. I believe that Tharoor had an ulterior motive in doing this. I have written a couple of detailed articles on this topic (1) Selective Amnesia in History (2) Nation Forgets a Patriot. Those who are interested may read these articles in my blog [profmpc.blogspot.com]
