The first in the Chesapeake Bay series, Sea Swept is the story of Cameron Quinn who comes home when he gets word his father is dying. When Cam was a boy, Ray and his wife Stella took Cam into their home when he ran away from an abusive home life. Cam was the first boy but Ray and Stella also took in Ethan and Phillip, whose stories are told in future books.

Cameron gets to Ray's hospital bed in time to say goodbye and Ray extracts a promise from all three boys to care for Seth, a 10 year old that Ray had taken in. While learning to care for Seth, Cam needs to confront the demons of his past and he also falls in love with Seth's caseworker, Anna Spinelli. I love the characters Nora Roberts creates. I can picture them in my mind as real people I'd like to know. I've read this series before but I'm glad Roberts was chosen as this month's featured author--it gave me a chance to dust off some of my well loved books and re-read them again!

Words can't describe how dear the Chesapeake books are to me. I love them all, I love all the Quinn men.

Cameron Quinn is the eldest of the Quinn brothers, three boys who had a less than a kind start in life. Taken in by Ray and Stella Quinn, these boys learn what it is to be loved, and due to the care of the Quinns, grow into successful men.

At the start of Sea Swept, Cam is far away from Chesapeake Bay, persuing his racing career, and the high life. A call from his brother brings him home, when Ray Quinn has been in a fatal accident.

Arriving home, Cam meets Seth, a ten year old boy, and the latest of Ray Quinn's strays. On a death bed promise the Quinn brothers promise to look after Seth. And they find themselves living under the same roof once again, each making huge sacrifices. On top of that, social services are involved, and the Quinns have to fight to keep Seth in their care. The social worker given the case is Anna Spinnelli. As well as ensuring that Seth is cared for, she catches Cam's eye as the brothers make drastic life changes to care for Seth.

The plot thickens when the rumours about Ray's death start flying, if they are to be believed Seth is Ray's biological son, this revelation throws the family into turmoil. Can Cam keep the family together? Can he give Seth what he needs? Can he do right by Anna?

This book has a bit of everything, a fast paced story, an element of mystery, and a sweet romance. The Quinns are fine men, and watching them learn to love a ten year old boy makes you fall in love with them too. Seth is perhaps the star of the show, however, seeing him blossom is wonderful.

I can't recommend this series enough, it is one of Robert's best.

It was interesting, but not "exciting". It held my interest because it was short.

I've never been one for romance types, but this one pulled my heart strings and brought out my inner romantic. Nora Roberts has a way with words, describing the passion between the characters so vividly you feel like it's you being swept off your feet. A great read...can't wait to finish the other books in this series!

The 3 Quinn brothers, taking care of their young brother, Seth, on the Eastern Shore. This is book 1 of a trilogy. Find the other 2. Another good Nora Roberts book.

I really loved Cam and Anna. I thought they made a good couple and really suited each other. They were both very three-dimensional and real.
