RDC-M V 3 1999, 5/8/13. A 4 year old's life is upended by the murder of her mother, by her father. Years later she discovers that what she remembers is not the truth. Very good.

Nora Roberts is such a fantastic story teller. Every time I thought I had the plot of this book figured out, I would read another 100 pages and change my mind! You just can't go wrong with this author or her books.

I found this book difficult to get through. Although it started out very interesting, the book seemed to drag on in the middle. I didn't really like the main guy in the book because he kept pursuing something I think he should have just let go. The topic was also really serious, and I did not find that there were enough light moments. Not my favourite Roberts book, that's for sure. But people who like murder mysteries will enjoy it.

4 STARS Olivia's parents were once the golden couple in Hollywood until one night her mother is murdered and her father is arrested. He is sent to prison and she grows up in River's end with her maternal grandparents. Sheltered from Hollywood and her past Olivia is horrified when Noah wants to write about the day that caused her so much pain. Noah, the son of the homicide det who charged her father, is now a true crime writer and this case has haunted him through the years as has Olivia.

This novel reminds me a bit of Roberts' Public Secrets but less of a saga. A great romantic suspense though was a bit more suspense than romance. The action flowed like a movie but I found that the end was a bit rushed.

I started out reading this with the thought that it was a romantic suspense. When it was more like a suspense with a little bit of romance. So for me it had way too much back story and dragged a lot. Also I couldn't picture the H/H as adults in their late 20's and early 30's.. they forever remained 19 and 25... the dialogue and attitudes seemed to keep them that way. Perhaps had I gone into this book not thinking it was a romance it may have earned another star.. but... I doubt it.
