Dont be put off by the (really) dodgy start, this ends up being a major winner

The first two books are interesting, but the last two books are pretty dull.

Is alright. I'm not really into it, reading it really slowly.

An excellent series of stories about cities from Earth that can end up going through outer space, and what happens to them, including what happens at the end of reality as we know it. Fascinating and somewhat scary at the same time.

This is perhaps my favorite book. Cities from Earth use spindizzy technology to launch themselves into space. They become vagabond space vessels, going from planet to planet to provide manufacturing facilities for a price. Eventually, there is a recession and the cities run out of money, causing them to huddle around a star for warmth and starve. Fabulous! One of hte best from teh golden age of Science Fiction.
