Ms. Thomas' writing has inspired me to go back (again) to the ultimate literary achievement (the Bible) and reflect, meditate, and rejoice in Hosea's testimony. The author weaved the contemporary into this timeless tale and helps Christians and non-believers alike experiene Hosea's testimony in a real way. Sure, there were some things that some may say were 'over the top' and some may even say that today's Hosea wouldn't be so patient...but I would like to believe that Ms. Thomas has shown us the lengths to which a godly man will go to follow God first, and follow his heart second. Pull out the tissues and curl up with a nice cup of tea--you'll get wrapped up in this one quickly!”

The topics that are covered in this book could be debated from now until the proverbial cows come home. How do we continue to forgive a loved one who has lost his/her way, numerous times? How does one truly forgive an adulterous spouse? Did the pastor choose wisely? I don't want to give too much away if you have not yet read this one. I will say I was a little shocked at the ending. And everyone wants to 'poor Geneva' -- man, whatever! Geneva, if she was so God-fearing, should have kept her distance from that MARRIED man, regardless of his 'situation.' That's how we as young women find ourselves in ridiculous situations in the first place!! And that's just my $0.02 on THAT.
***CAUTION: SPOILERS BELOW!!***
All in all, it was very well-written, and I will read other books by Miss Jacquelin in the future. I couldn't put it down. I gave four out of five stars because of the way things ended -- it was a shocker, yes; and that's okay. But what if the prodigal wife had lived through the delivery? Sounds horrible to say, but she almost got out too easy by dying......? Would they have stayed together, or would she have gone post-partum and been back on dope before the baby could walk? So many possibilities!”
“I just completed reading this book that was recommended to me by a friend. I had read a few of Jacquelin Thomas' novels before yet thought this was one of the best of the books that I've read. It was simply heartbreaking while remaining inspirational. I kept thinking...how much more Lord...and yet Warner's faith kept him committed to his family and God's promise. You will surely want to cry for Warner but not without shedding a tear or two...or three...for Marin who lost her way..really long before her struggle with addiction...and spent her life finding her way back.”

Marin Alexander, a beautiful up and coming actress had her sights on Warner Brice, a televangelist. He was sure God told his spirit that Marin was to be his wife. But does Hollywood and The Pulpit really work? Marin tried her best to be the First Lady but Hollywood had more control over her than she could handle. Warner was as patient as a husband could be but he questioned if God had really told him Marin was to be his wife.
This is a great depiction of the biblical story of Hosea and Gome (Hosea 3:1)”
