For booktalk- Did you know Israel the only country without a Starbucks? Schultz is a target to the Palestinians worried their Starbucks stores might draw their ire...
In its fledgling days Schultz opened a store right across the street from his most profitable store and found both did better - literally 15 feet away from each other...
p. 7- Boston Harbor- bottom of page
p. 83 - Frappucino - lousy tshirt ”

I learned so much from this book... WHY it is that instant coffee tastes bad (they use low-low end beans with no flavor and add artificial coffee flavor back in. Ew.) Also, there are only 7 formats for Starbucks' store setups for ALL stores... themed with colors, types of furniture, etc etc).
Needless to say, I am a biased reader because I love The Bucks, but while I was happy to learn more about the company, it was a great educational read.
If you Love Starbucks, or Hate Starbucks, this is truly a book to check out. ”
“My daughter works at Starbucks, so of course I had to read this book. This is one of quite a few recent books about the coffee vendor to the world. I found it informative and readable.”

This book is "about Starbucks", but its MOSTLY about our culture and the history of the success of Starbucks and what it is about our society and our current social conditions that have come together at just the perfect time to allow so many of us to be captivated by this coffee shop chain. It's not just coffee they are selling - they are selling us something that answers a deep emotional need. Like I said, it's very interesting. It's non-fiction, which I don't usually read, and I can't put it down.”
