The murder and additional details were a lot less graphic which I appreciated. Although I don't intend to buy these books for my personal library I do enjoy reading them especially since I love anything Regency England.”

There was a lot more information about the main character's past revealed, and the mystery itself was better with a better climatic scene. It all fit together better. Again, like the first one (What Angels Fear) it moves beyond just Regency/historical details to add all the political happenings and goings on of the time. Gives the story lots of depth and complexity, and yet the suspense really moves the story forward.”

When a young woman is found dead with a dagger in her back (and in the arms of the Prince Regent...) officials are most interested in seeing a successful conclusion to the investigation. Resistant at first, Sebastian takes on the investigation when he discovers the woman was wearing the necklace his mother was wearing when she supposedly died. Tom and Kat return to aid in the investigation and more secrets about Kat are revealed... as well as secrets that Earl of Hendon kept from his son (Sebastian). An interesting read, not as good as it's predessor however. ”
