“Love this mystery”

Yes | No“Vernetta Henderson yearns to break through the cycle and become the first African-American partner at one of L.A.'s top notch firms. After years of being an employment attorney, Vernetta soon becomes part of the "dream team," a three star African-American cast featuring herself, Neddy McClain, a hard nose criminal defense attorney and Tina Montgomery, a prime and proper housewife accused of the murder of her philandering husband. As the case goes from cold to hot, Vernetta contemplates whether her failing marriage is worth the pressures of defending someone who may not be so innocent.
Neddy has all the makings of getting Tina acquitted of the murder charges. After defending some of the toughest criminals working at the Public Defender's Office, this should be a piece of cake. Not one to care if someone is guilty or not guilty; Neddy has found herself in a compromising situation that may lead her sitting next to Tina fighting for her innocence.
Pamela Samuels-Young does a good job at giving us the "inside scoop" of the dynamics of climbing that corporate ladder; not only at work but home. She delivers a solid debut which will have you waiting for the next time court is in session.”
“Tina Montgomery, an African-American socialite, married 27 years to a Los Angeles business icon is accused of murdering him. Vernetta Henderson, still in her honeymoon phase, has been married 14 months. Hubby Jefferson is ready to start procreating, but it's her briefs that seem to be in the way. A civil attorney, Vernetta is on the partnership track at O'Reilly & Finney. After winning a monumental case, the opportunity to cut her teeth on another high-profile case has been dropped in her lap. Neddy McClain is the firm's best criminal attorney. She's the only other African American in the firm. On the surface, Neddy appears to be aloof. Silently she's struggling with private dilemmas. O'Reilly & Finney assign their super lawyer duo to defend Tina Montgomery. Will this dream team be able to objectively put aside their differences as well as their own personal dramas? When I opened EVERY REASONABLE DOUBT, I felt as if I'd read this story before. I did. I was lucky enough to read some of it on www.Blackexpressions.com website when Pamela Samuels-Young won. Although I liked the story and recommend it highly, I felt that the author could've stirred the whodunit angle even further. ”

This is her first novel and it's a read of the century. Look out literary world she on fire. All the characters and court scenes was well brought out. My favorite character was Special because she told Vernetta the truth about her ways of work and marriage was right down wrong. I agree with Special if she would of put all her energy into her marriage as she was with her job. Jefferson wouldn't complain and [...]. Tina was foul just like her husband was foul for cheating. Two wrongs don't make a right. She should of walked away along time ago, because she loved that husband more than she loved herself. But she paid a high price for not walking away like she should of. I like the way Vernetta and Neddy came together and put they differences aside to handle the case the way they did. I was touched the way the author brought them together that made the story worth wild. "Let the record show that I find Every Reasonable Doubt guilt of being the read of the century." If you haven't read this yet, trust and believe it's worth you money and time. On the scale of 1-10 I give it a 10+ ”
