I quickly got tired of the character, Gabby, and her over analyzing everything that had to do with Travis, her boyfriend, Kevin, her job, and even her dog, Molly. I no longer find it enjoyable to read about insecure women. I want to read about women that feel empowered by their...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“The worst Nicholas Sparks book I have read. And I LOVE Nicholas Sparks. I felt it was a rehash of The Notebook, where he took the same formula and changed the names and made it present day.”

Two people meet, there is some conflict, then Love blooms, and I am talking about a deep resonant Love that we search for all of our lives. Commitment, marriage, something of that nature happens, then someone dies.
Sounds sad I know, however, his writing is intelligent and smart. His characters come across real .. the dialogue is crisp and at moments intense. Which makes this a quick read as most interesting novels are.
If you enjoy novels about men and women on intelligent terms this is a must read. ”
“For the 45th book I have read this year, I was severely disappointed. This was my first, and last, Nicholas Sparks novel. It was poorly written. I could not stand how slow it was paced, and how stupid the main characters were. The obvious took chapters to come to light. Also, every time a "choice" was getting ready to be made, it skipped over it and we were told the consequences of the choice, but we were never part of the choice. Also, the work "choice" was not mentioned until part 2, over half way through the book. But once it was, Sparks became obsessed with it. If this is the way his novels go, I am good without ever reading another one.”

“This novel is wonderful. I floated on a cloud through the first three-quarters of the story, reveling in the true love story of two people who didn't expect to end up together. Then, the story takes a heart-wrenching and unexpected twist, and I could not put this book down, or hold back tears. I hope I never have to learn what sort of strength and faith a decision like this requires.
Nicholas Sparks is a master at weaving intricate, touching, and believable (not cheesy) romances. I hope this novel is made into a movie like Message In a Bottle, A Walk To Remember, The Notebook, and Nights in Rodanthe.”
