“I absolute loved this book. But that won’t help anyone considering buying it, no? It starts out with an average high school guy, named Aidan, having to move away from his home, leaving his only friend in the world behind. And he- well he is just plain mad. Who wouldn’t be? Having to move all the way across the country for his GRAMPA.
But through some strange events, and an extraordinary story, he finds his way into a different world.
In that other world he finds people who expect him to become a knight, in just a week.
And they are relying on him to find a way to convince a king -who looks strangely familiar- to join their side in a battle which could very likely end in disaster not only in their world, but our world also.
It’s a great book, but if you buy it in a book store, be careful because there are some messed up copies out. If the book says it “Includes the ALL NEW LOST CHAPTERS” check and make sure they are their before you buy it. The lost chapters should be between the epilogue and the acknowledgements.”
“This novel is rich with Christian symbolism much like CS Lewis Narnia. I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading the next 2 in the series. ”

The Door Within begins after a family has moved, and their son, Aidan Thomas, is upset about leaving friends and familiar surroundings. He becomes bored and explores their new basement, in which appears scrolls bearing a captivating history of a land called Alleble. Aidan consults his Grampin, who informs him about the land, stating that it is real and he could believe by finding a key within, by imagining crossing a rope bridge across a bottomless chasm to a door. After entering the door in his mind’s eye, it becomes all too real and he ends up in the evil land of Paragory, named after it‘s ruler, Paragor. He is rescued from the evil mountain on which he appeared, and is taken to Alleble, where he finds he has been chosen to be the twelfth knight in a diplomatic group destined for Mithegard, to persuade them to ally with Alleble, before they side with Paragor.
The book was written in a very captivating manner, cliffhangers at the end of almost every chapter, and many fantastical elements incorporated into this mythical world. The explanation of scripture and the decision of men is a very clear link to the Bible and Jesus Christ’s sacrifice.”

The Door Within is the start to a trilogy like none other. If you like fantasy, this is the story for you. While I have never been a huge fan of the fantasy genre, this book may have just won me over. I loved the descriptive writing, vivid characters and the amazing plot line. If you enjoy secular fiction, then you will enjoy this novel. If you know anything about the Bible you will immediately see the parallels in this story. Starting with King Eliam and Paragor and woven throughout the novel until the last page are references to Jesus, Satan and many other biblical figures and stories. However; this does not mean that if you have absolutely no knowledge of the Bible that you cannot enjoy this story. For those of you who find the Bible hard to relate to, this book will change your perception forever! An amazing story whether it stands alone or with the rest of its trilogy, I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading!”
