This was a fast, very enjoyable read! It is the first book of my 'new' year (starting 8 November 2008) and I liked this better than either Kavalier and Clay (which, while strong, through out, ended rather weakly) or Yiddish Policeman's Union.

A big disappointment. The core of the story was good, but the writing is clunky and disjointed. I enjoyed the afterword, in which the author writes about why he decided to write this book. It's original title was supposed to be Jews with Swords and Chabon's description of that is interesting. I'm sad that he didn't pull off what he set out to do.
