“Heroine is a spoiled brat daughter of a rich Texas senator who’s never told her no. Hero is—well, he’s not exactly anti-social, he just can’t see what purpose sociability has for him. He’s a loner who trusts no one but family, but he’s sent to deliver a horse to this senator’s daughter. Only she’s afraid of horses, and her slimy fiancé hires the hero to teach the heroine to ride. Then the senator hires the hero to “kidnap” his daughter and get her to safety if the senator’s attacked. And things snowball from there. The heroine learns to be strong. The hero learns to trust. Just a great, well-written Jodi Thomas story of the quality you can always expect from a Rita Hall of Fame winner like Thomas.”
