At first glance, this book looks like run of the mill western romance, but the writer's talent and skill at character development quickly sets it apart. I enjoyed the emotional subtleties and family loyalties of the novel, and appreciated that there were actual obstacles to the couple getting together, not just contrived plot devices. Also, it was more realistic that it took the couple a while for their relationship to deepen into love. The writer was better with relationships and characters than details of a suspenseful plot, but it didn't affect the book much. All in all, a great book, superior in the romance genre.
Another good one

If you like romance novels, you'll want to read Jodi Thomas. Her books are easy to read, have a good storyline and of course good triumphs over evil. Looking forward to the next installment.

I am not going to go into detail, I see this has been done quite well.
This had a good story line, however I thought it was pretty predictable with little passion (oh, I saw lust and want and need, but the gut wrenching passion was lacking). I thought the main characters caved to their attraction too easily, which left less passionate episodes. Despite being a good story, I would not recommend this book.
Fabulous! Never a dull moment! Suspenseful to the end!

I loved this story. It keeps you guessing right up to the end. You know you're reading a romance novel, and the loving couple usually ends up together in the end, but when you read this one you're not sure, until the very end. It's not a typical story and yet it is. It's a paradox.
