This was a very good Maeve Binchy book! Loved the characters!!
The story line got me hooked right from the beginning.
Helen married Kit's father even though she still loved the man who left her.
The whole town believes that Helen must have drowned in the lake. Some think she committed suicide. It is helpful to know the Catholic "rules" about burial back in that era. Kit was so afraid her mother would not be allowed to be buried in holy ground. When Kit finds the letter to...
