solid. really does believe that we all have more in common than what divides us.

I think it was an excellent book, this guy paid his dues to reach the office of the president of the united states. He is probably the best US president I have seen in the 21st century. I am a young adult so I am not saying that there were not good presidents before, I am just saying what I see as a young person, after viewing George Bush.

I love how he thinks. He's a pragmatist with visionary scope who hasn't fallen prey to cynicism. And he isn't just paying lip service to his belief in the value of education.

Great ideas- but very time consuming to read. He, as an author, is too flowery!

I like a lot of what President Obama (then Senator Obama) has to say in this book. I'm in the minority of folks around here who like the job President Obama is doing, but I'm in also in the minority of folks in this area who were willing to give him a chance to begin with. He is well-versed and lays out some great ideas on the direction he would like to see the country go. Socialist? I don't think so.

This quite an inspiring book, again if someone is interested in inter and intra race relations and the economics of the USA, this is one of the books I would recommend.

The Audacity of Hope is Barack Obama’s call for a different brand of politics—a politics for those weary of bitter partisanship and alienated by the “endless clash of armies” we see in congress and on the campaign trail; a politics rooted in the faith, inclusiveness, and nobility of spirit at the heart of “our improbable experiment in democracy.” He explores those forces—from the fear of losing to the perpetual need to raise money to the power of the media—that can stifle even the best-intentioned politician. After having read his first book last month, I found his second shows his public face and his current positions on issues and lin contians ess autobiographical information. The autobiography that he did include updates and anecdotally describes him. As the title suggests, Obama's plan contains hope as its central unifying theme; his ability to inspire and instill hope after the long eclipse of Dark Days from the previous administration will be his greatest asset. Obama's gift to encapsulate complex issues, describing them with clarity and accuracy stands as the strongest feature of this book and also satisfies me the most as a reader . The more that I read from this man and the more that I witness his commitments, record, and vision, the more convinced I become that he is the right leader for our age. My admiration for him increases day after day.

A few interesting insights on life in politics and the goings-on in D.C. Besides that, a pretty generic and sometimes even trite political memoir.
