This is my first time reading one of these campaign season biographies so I can't really put it in context with others of its ilk, but I really enjoyed it. It is definitely one of the reasons I like him so much. He's clearly a...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“why i voted for obama, and still have hope in politics. this book definitely moderated my view of politics (from right to left), as obama digs his own party at times while showing the other side has valid points as well. i think that is a quality - being able to recognize the weaknesses of your own beliefs, recognize the strengths of your opponents views, while not ascribing bad intentions to either. ”

I am a young adult so I am not saying that there were not good presidents before, I am just saying what I see as a young person, after viewing George Bush.”

I'm in the minority of folks around here who like the job President Obama is doing, but I'm in also in the minority of folks in this area who were willing to give him a chance to begin with. He is well-versed and lays out some great ideas on the direction he would like to see the country go. Socialist? I don't think so.”

The autobiography that he did include updates and anecdotally describes him. As the title suggests, Obama's plan contains hope as its central unifying theme; his ability to inspire and instill hope after the long eclipse of Dark Days from the previous administration will be his greatest asset. Obama's gift to encapsulate complex issues, describing them with clarity and accuracy stands as the strongest feature of this book and also satisfies me the most as a reader . The more that I read from this man and the more that I witness his commitments, record, and vision, the more convinced I become that he is the right leader for our age. My admiration for him increases day after day.”
