    pretty good book

This was a good, informative book on Barack Obama's personal beliefs as well as his political philosophies. Each chapter starts with a life experience that lets you know where he is coming from on each government issue that he discusses. I'm not sure how interesting it would be for someone who already has some knowledge of Obama's ideals becuase it doesn't seem like he is saying anything too earth-shattering.

Another interesting thing is that his sincerity comes across the same way on paper that it does when you listen to him on tv, especially when he discusses issues of faith and morality.

Excellent insight into his policy aspirations

I read this book before he became the President, and now as I see the policies he has set forth and his comtemplative demeanor during these very trying times, I believe he is for real.

    Barack Obama

I am reminded of when Joe Biden was derided for calling Barack Obama "articulate" and "clean," yet that characterization kept crossing my mind as I read, "The Audacity of Hope". I found Barack Obama's writing style easily accessible but was taken by how, even then, he was expression of a general change, not the product of a star system. No hocus pokus. Down to earth. Genuine. Obama deserves praise for inspiring us to believe we can do better by force of will. We need hope. Barack Obama has restored that very concept.

    Everyone should consider this

I think everyone should read or listen to what their president has to say- whether or not they think they will agree. By learning about this man and his visions for America before running for president, I came to understand more about his agenda as President. And for a book about politics, it was actually a pretty good read.

Not sure about the guy. Hated the book.

I am politically "in the middle" most of the time. This book is a lousy read if you ask me. The politics in it are totally boring and I guess I really didn't get it.
