I love the way Maeve Binchy characterizes the people in her book. I enjoyed this so much unti the ending. The ending seemed so abrupt and there were so many characters that I needed to have some closure with.

This is not my normal reading fare, however I loved this book. It was different and took a bit of getting used to, but once I caught on to the short vignettes of peoples lives and how they are impacted by whitethorn woods I was totally hooked.

I actually didn't really like it. Each chapter is told by the perspective of a different person, connecting them somewhat to other characters but it was too disjointed for my taste.

I agree, Circle of Friends is her best and the first one I started with... but, I really enjoyed this one as well. It's almost more linked short stories though, instead of a novel, which may throw some readers off (I loved the format myself).
