Laura Esquivel goes in a journal with no expectations. She doesn´t want to tell the story of Malinalli (Malinche for the less respectful), she instead, decides that becomenig her voice indeed is to recreate one of the most interesting ages of the Aztecs: the arrival of Cortez and the Spanish army. The stoyr unfolds very nicely through the eyes of Malinalli who becomes not only the right hand of Cortez but also the woman who feels, desires, and awaits thing to come. Better things. For...
