This is a great touchstone book to read and reread with a class. It tackles the issue of how individuality and creativity can be squashed, something that happens all too often in school. But there is hope, especially when we can see the potential in others and their work.

A great book about an artistic young boy who learns that he shouldn't be ashamed of his unique-ish drawing talent.
"One morning, Ramon had a wonderful feeling. It was a feeling that even ish words and ish drawings could not capture. He decided not to capture it. Instead, he simply savored it."

Love how Ramon's point of view can be changed by two members of his family. Helps us learn how our little comments can make a big difference.

This book is about a boy who doesn't have to fit the mold. It is a good encouraging book that will help kids see that they don't have to be exactly the same.

I loved this book. This book is about a boy named Ramen, who doesn't think that his paintings are nice because of his older brother teasing him. I liked how his sister had faith in his drawings and in the end, even though his drawings were different, he knew that they were unique in his own little way.
