I think it was a lack of connection with the main character. I'll give the next one or two a try and see how I feel before I decide whether to stay up on this series.”

The only real issue I have is with the cover artwork, which is nonsensical and doesn't really relate to the story at all.”

I could “see” the houses and the people. The whole book is very British. The reason I only gave it a rating of 8 is because it seemed to be so drawn out, even though it was not a long book. It “felt” drawn out. Also, I didn’t feel much warmth in the family, though that may not be so unusual. There was a nice twist at the end. I do want to read the next book, Terror on Tuesday, to see if I like the series well enough to continue. I care about the main character and her family, so it will be good to “visit” them again.
