Wow. I am about 36% of the way done with this book. The first couple of pages were difficult to read. I am enjoying it, but it seems to be taking longer...I have to really think about all the names and places since they are unfamiliar to me. I am really hoping it is worth the effort! Anyone have thoughts to share?
I labored through the first half (took about 7 days for the first 50%). I finished the last 50% last night with a 5 hour marathon reading stretch. I really ended up liking it.
I don't understand why it's called "The Hangman's Daughter" if she isn't even the protagonist. Is it just in keeping with the trendy thing to do now - naming your book after the relative of someone with an interesting occupation?
“The names were confusing at the beginning, but they do become more clear as you read, and the plot thickens too. It was more about the hangman than his daughter, though she's becomes important to the resolution, and is a strong-minded heroine for that time period in history. ”
