In the 1950s, teens Michael O’McCarthy and Robert Straley were termed "incorrigible youth” and ordered to attend the Florida School for Boys. They arrived to find an immaculately groomed campus. But hidden behind the school’s gates was a hell unlike any they could have foreseen. The guards and administrators were their jailers and tormentors, and the boys allegedly bore witness to assault, rape, and possibly even murder. For fifty years, the two and hundreds of former students like them carried their torment in silence. But after a series of unlikely events brought them together, they became determined to expose the School for Boys for what it was: a youth prison with a long history of abuse. From their tormented lives emerges a staggeringly powerful and inspiring saga of vindication in the face of terror few can ever imagine.
