“I loved this book in the series! I love the idea of Raine having an ex fiance, I thought it gave a great fresh new twist on the story. Though I liked every story and the adventure in each I think I liked this story the best!”

The Raine Benares books are high on that list.
Raine is a Seeker. Throw away your Harry Potter pre-conceived notion of seekers for a moment and bear with me. She is able to touch an object and view that object from the point of view of the person who has handled it or touched it. Person, or persons, I should say. Now, she isn’t particularly magical, like other elves out there, but she has a mediocre level of talent - that is until she absorbs a mean, nasty orb called the Saghred.
All this happens in the previous four books in the series – but this one has an added level of fun: the appearance of an old boyfriend of Raine’s. Con & Conjure contains everything I’ve come to expert from Lisa Shearin; filled with lots of action, lots of sneaky movements, hot, hot moments between Raine and Mychael – however no moments with Tam which makes me sad (this is the only book I not only tolerate the love triangle, but encourage it – don’t make me choose!) and plenty of intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed Con & Conjure but please, Lisa, for the love of all that’s good, we know at this point that Raine is a Benares… you don’t always have to remind us! There, that’s my only real complaint.
This is a fun series and I highly recommend it!”
“Raine Benares is a fabulous heroine, with pointy Fae ears, witty reparte, she's smart, sassy and kick-butt - everything you want in a 'girl-power' heroine!
Throw in some handsome, clever and magically brilliant fae and goblins, as well as some thoroughly scripted bad guys and this book and series, is a fabulous read.
Granted the series probably leans more towards 'girl' fantasy fans, this brilliant series full of magic, thieves, dragons, politics and intrigue is thoroughly entertaining.
A solid thumbs up for this and the Raine Benares series, for a captivating read that's hard to put down and recommend you don't start reading late unless you regularly read through the night (like me), in order to reach the last satisfying page of your book.”
“Awesome book in the series! Raine is in her element again and the Saghred just doesn't want her to rest. But what will you do, when you know that someone wants to steal the damned rock?”

Things are kind of going to hell in a hand basket for Raine at the moment. One of the things I love about this series is it's unpredictability. Often, when your hero or heroine gets themselves in a bad situation, you can usually guess how they're going to get out of it. But with Raine, I have no clue. I just can't see it at all. She's not the type of girl that sits around waiting to be rescued, so she normally gets herself out using her wits alone. She's crafty and ingenious, and its great fun to read.
There are so many people after Raine at the moment that the poor girl seriously needs a break. I don't foresee one coming any time soon, though, as this book ends with a less than ideal situation for Raine.
I'm greatly looking forward to the next book All spell breaks loose, sometime next year. I recommend this series to anyone who likes fast moving, fantasy adventure with vivid and lovable characters, as well as smackable baddies aplenty.”
“Oh Raine I missed you. lol!! This protagonist literally does remind me so much of myself but it's not only that that has me loving this series. The world, the characters, the action, the romance, the comedy, etc. I love it all. I have no idea when this series will end but I'm already looking forward to any future books that Lisa Shearin will write. These books are such fun reads and so far at the top of my favorite books list. :)”

The Saghred has been stolen and now Raine and crew will have to go chase it down before Nukpana can make use of it and drive Raine insane. Looking forward to the next book!”
