“This is the story of Lina, a 15 year old Lithuanian girl, who is taken captive with her mother and younger brother and shipped off to a Siberian labor camp during WWII. This is story I was unfamiliar with and I definitely think it is a story that needs to be told. I swear I felt the lice on my scalp and the sores on my hands while reading this book. This story will tug at your emotions like any great story does. There are lots of great WWII young adult historical fiction books out there and this is another one to add to the group”
