Prologue
A single figure stares at a starless night sky. Envisioning herself in some far off place, filled with joy and light, instead of stranded in this sea of darkness.
The very darkness that pulls at her sanity and soul, taking with it all hope of the light she once had. Words swirl through her mind, recreating the vision of faith that had been taken away.
A voice of wind calls out:
“A heart as cold as ice,
A day as black as Night.
What will be the time when I lose sight, of all that is sacred and strong…Of all the wars and lovers gone?
A heart as cold as ice,
A day as black as Night.
What will be the time when I lose sight, of all that is Righteous, Strong, and Right?
Will I make my way to the light, or will I be stranded in eternal night?
Will this love last forever?…Or will it end in spite?
In this eternal Night…”
The vision ends and the girl shouts out in confusion, her lips form the words but she cannot will her voice to speak them, alas there would be no ear to hear them and no voice to tear her away from the darkness that simply wouldn’t relinquish it’s hold.
