“Incredible insights into the family and the development of the California wine industry. Lots of family infighting to spice it up! Names and places are familiar to Californians - lots of surprises about the family and their winery. ”

“Interesting family saga about The Mondavi family but I think the book should be shortened by 50-100 pages. By the end of the book I was thinking too much detail about yet another disagreement. Sad that there was so much discord in the family. ”

“A great book about a great Napa Valley family. Robert Mondavi was the very first winery my wife and I went to in 1970 when we lived in the Bay Area. The history presented in this book is well done and I enjoyed it very much.”

“I was not sure that this was non-fiction when I picked this book, but I really did enjoy it. It was an excellent little history lesson, and unbelievable in so many ways, that families can be so dysfunctional. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about the American wine industry...things we have long taken for granted.”

“I loved it! We found it average for discussion at book club although the Mondavi family is fascinating. We talked with Ms. Flynn Siler via telephone and that was very interesting. What a contribution Robert Mondavi made to the wine industry!”
