Yes | No“More a story about the clash between big business (Vermont style - a ski resort) and environmentalists than a story about Water Witches, being another name for those who dowse for water. I was actually hoping that the story would be more about the dowsers, but really it is about Scott Winston a lawyer and lobbiest for the ski resort who is trying to push a big expansion through the when he and his daughter, a 9 year old, but already very talented dowser see a family of catamounts on the mountain that the expansion is planned for. The rest of the story talks about how Scott is changed by what he sees and what he feels he has to do about it.
There was some amusing dialogue, and the writing was very smooth, and overall it was a very pleasant read.”
“I enjoyed this novel. I have always been fascinated by the idea of people who can dowse for water. My own father hired a water witcher to find his water when drilling a well in their rural home in Nevada after my parents retired. I liked the relationships between the characters in the story. It certainly isn't top-notch literature, but a nice summer read. 3 1/2 stars”

The story is about a man who is married into a long family line of dowsers, and a ski resort in Vermont.
