“The characters are not charming: she's not headstrong enough, he takes most things for granted, as only the rich can. Although, to be sure, they're quite psychologically realistic - and that being so, I can't imagine them having a happily ever after beyond the book's ending. It's weird to think this of book characters, but they just don't have chemistry. And the villain's so petty it feels like the main characters are just paranoid.”
