This is the second Anita Shreve book I have read & like "Sea Glass," "Eden Close" was a very good read. I want to read more by this author.

Romantic but predictable. Not a terribly compelling book.

Why isn't there half a star? It was somewhere between I didn't like it and I liked it. It was alright.

this book shows that you can come back and correct past mistakes..it examines to an extent what "the sense of an ending" does, but with far more endearing characters.

Such a good book. You are pulled into the story, but near the end it is so full of surprises! A great read.

Shreve's first novel focuses on a thirty-something man who returns to his childhood home for his mother's funeral and reconnects with a young woman whose history is clouded by the events of a single night of violence. Passable, but nothing I haven't read at least a dozen times before.
