“Two-Minute Drill is a good book if you are looking for quick points. It has an 880 Lexile and is worth 8 points. Scott Parry is the new kid in school. He is incredibly smart and has a secret, he is an amazing kicker. He decides to try out for the football team but is too nervous to tell the coach, the school bully's dad, that he can kick. There he finds that the star quarterback has a secret of his own. Two-Minute Drill is a short book if you need some points fast. If you like this book there are many books like it in the Comeback Kids series.”

Scott Parry the new kid in school is just getting familiar with his surroundings. Some supposedly cool kids called him brain because he was always the first person to raise his hand to answer a question. One day jimmy Dolan came over to him and dumped his books on the ground. Chris Conlan one of the coolest kids in the school and the football teams quarterback helped him pick up his things. Chris noticed a picture of a dog and asked if Scott wanted to hang out.
When chris came to his house they decided to go outside and play ball on parry field. Parry Field was Scott's secret field that him and his dad had built. They threw the ball back and forth and Scott couldn't catch any thing and thought he was making a fool of himself in front of his new friend. After they had thrown the ball Chris left because it was getting late. After Chris left Scott started kicking field goals, he kept trying the drop kick and made them all. Chris came back to him and said that he had a talent.
It was 2 to 0 in the fourth quarter with 8 seconds left Scott's team down. Ground soaked with mud and water. Chris couldn't complete a pass because he was slipping. They couldn't run either because they had to run in slow motion or else they would slip and fall. It was time for Scott to show his talent. He lined up right behind the center 8 yards back and set up for a field goal. He said ht ht and the ball went right to him, he dropped the ball on the ground and kicked it. He thought it was going to be just short, but it was just high enough and cleared the pole by a couple of yards. He had won the game for them, and made a remarkable kick. The kicks name was now called "The Kick" and Scott had his week of celebration.”
“it was very exciting. ”
