  • Foster McFee: A young girl who dreams of having her own cooking show. When she and her mother escape Memphis, Foster begins to find her place in Culpepper by baking cupcakes for places and events in town. She later uses baking as a bargaining chip to overcome an embarrassment that haunts her.
  • Macon Dillard: A young boy who aspires to be a documentary filmmaker. He may be just shooting videos on his cell phone now - but he has big plans to film a major expose on the local prison. He also works as an assistant to Miss Charleena, the local celebrity.
  • Rayka McFee: Foster's mother, who fled a bad relationship with Huck, an Elvis impersonator. Rayka can really sing, and wants to be in the spotlight someday.
  • Sonny Kroll: A TV chef with his own show and a former Marine. He is Foster's hero, and she watches his show as often as possible so she can learn to cook as well as he does. When Foster finds one of the cookbooks he published, he becomes even more of an inspiration.
  • Miss Charleena: A former Hollywood star, Miss Charleena is plotting to get back into the big-time. With Macon's help, Miss Charleena and Foster form an unlikely partnership.
  • Huck: An Elvis impersonator from Memphis, and Rayka's former abusive boyfriend. They fled the state to get away from him, but he won't let go. He believes that he IS Elvis, and no one says no to Elvis!
