“Recently I read close to famous by Joan Bauer, I liked this book because it was realistic and it was easy to relate to how foster is feeling during the book. It was a page turner and once I started reading it I couldn’t stop. Foster loves to bake and I enjoyed reading about the delicious cupcakes she would bake. Also, because of something that happens in the story, it makes the book encouraging to other kids who are struggling and it teaches them to not give up. I recommend this book because its entertaining and an amazing read. ”

I loved Foster's fixation with the Food Network, but Bauer overstuffs the story with too many issues-- Foster's inability to read, domestic violence, etc. ”

Foster's dream is to become a owner of a cook show. But when her model gets injured, she uses her skill and brightens up his day. All the characters have a dream, like singing, baking, or becoming a movie film recorder. I like how, using their perseverance, they pursue their dreams as best as they can.”
