The world of Parsina is a place of magic and adventure, where many seemingly unconnected forces converge to alter the destiny of the universe.

In the Holy City of Ravan, the petty thief Hakem Rafi steals a jeweled reliquary urn containing the spirit of Aeshma, king of the daevas and the ultimate power of evil. The poor storyteller Jafar al Sharif is blamed for the theft and thrown in the dungeon, while his beautiful daughter Selima escapes police clutches and hides within the city.

From her pinnacle of power, the evil Shammara plots to have Prince Ahmad leave the city and be waylaid in the forest, so Shammara's own son can be crowned in his place.

Far off in his mountaintop lair, the blind wizard Akar senses the theft of the urn and, with his servant, the Jann Cari, travels to Ravan on a flying carpet to investigate.

These diverse paths cross and interweave to begin a saga of epic proportions, forming the opening volume of the four-book Parsina Saga.

First Sentence edit see section history

The tale is told of a time when all Parsina was shaken with war; when the oceans bubbled and the very sky caught fire; when a legion of demons fought the army of men; when the Peris took up arms and the King of the Winds bent himself to human purposes; when the earth split open and swallowed a city at a single greedy gulp; when strength and courage vied against treachery and corruption; when love battled hate and creation warred with destruction; when kings and princes fought for the honor of humanity against a swelling tide of demonkind; when the forces of Oromasd and Rimahn themselves contended for control of the world and the universe hung in the balance scale, half a feather’s weight from chaos.
