The story certainly immerses you into a post-doomsday scenerio you probably never would have conjured up on your own. In following the plot, it does help if you have some...” see full review » see other reviews » |

After reading the book and the bleak and cynical picture of faith, science, and humanity that he paints, I found myself wondering if the outlook expressed in...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“If you think you will enjoy the apocalypse, you should read this book. Of course the world has already been destroyed a few times by nuclear bombs. I believe this book to be true. ”

Can be a bit challenging, with large chunks of Latin to dig through (written in 1959, prior to Vatican II) and the setting (post-nuclear holocaust). At the end, I felt sad. Not that it was ending, but at the viewpoint of the book as a whole. Worth reading.”
