“I usually do not care for my media to be mixing, but the author did an awesome job of keeping true to the show while adding a unique story line. It felt as though I were immersed in the greatest, longest episode. The Bronx and Poe cottage provided a great setting. There is even a playlist included of the author's soundtrack while writing the book. I enjoyed this so much that I wish the author would produce something entirely of his own creation.”

However, the plot was extremely predictable and so many details were crammed into the that the continuity suffered almost to the point that you forget what's supposed to be happening before it gets on with. Trimming it way down probably would have produced a much more fast-paced and exciting story.”

The author claims to be a fan, but clearly picked a few eccentricities of the characters and wrapped them in a lame mystery. The Winchesters didn't even have anything to do in the story besides stumble across clues and random necessary characters. Not only did it do a disservice to the show's main characters, but to Edgar Allen Poe as well. The basic idea had potential that fell flat in this author's hands. I've read fan fiction with better understanding of their protagonists, better build of tension and plot, and just plain better writing. Maybe if the publisher had chosen better authors we'd still be getting new novels for this series.”

Back Cover Blurb:
Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. In the years after, their father, John, taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America....and he taught them how to kill it.
Sam and Dean have hit New York City to check out a local rocker's haunted house. But before they can figure out why a lovesick banshee in an '80's heavy-metal T-shirt is wailing in the bedroom, a far more macabre crime catches their attention. Not far from the house, two university students were beaten to death by a strange assailant. A murder that's bizarre even by New York City standards, it's the lastest in a line of killings that the brothers soon suspect are based on the creepy stories of legendary writer Edgar Allan Poe.
Their investigation leads them to the center of one of Poe's horror classics, face-to-face with their most terrifying foe yet. And if Sam and Dean don't rewrite the ending of this chilling tale, a grisly serial killer will end their lives forevermore.”
“Murders are happening in New York that are based on the tales of Edgar Allen Poe. Will the boys be able to stop the ritual from it's completion? And what of the ghost haunting their new friend? ”

This book I was very disappointed in. I read "Witch's Canyon" first which was absolutely amazing. It was such a great book. Unfortunately this book wasn't as good.
I don't know, I thought the both mysteries weren't very good. Besides the ghost haunting, there wasn't very much supernatural stuff going on. In fact it felt more like a detective novel then a supernatural novel.
I especially didn't like how the author had to give us every single road they took. I mean they took such and such to such and such to.. And on and on. It got so annoying. Just say they pulled up on 199th street. Don't give us every single road. And the music part was funny and great at first, but after a while it just got annoying.
The one thing I really liked was how the author got the banter and relationship right for the brothers. That was dead on.
All in all, I love Supernatural, but this book didn't live up to the standards of the Supernatural universe.

“SO far its not the best book but I like the show. I do like the fact that it has to do with Edgar Allen Poe.”

During the following years there father taught them about the supernatural forces that live in the darkness and on the back roads of America then...he taught them how to kick its evil butt. When, Ash the mullet dawning computer genius, ask the brothers to help a friend with a spirit problem. Sam and Dean head to New York and discover not only a ghost with a ‘80’s metal T-shirt screaming “LOVE ME!” like an Irish banshee. But also a stream of grisly murders with a dark Tim Burton like twist on the short stories and poems written by Eager Alain Poe. Can Sam and Dean rewrite the ending to this Poe-obsessed murderer's deadly story, or will the killer end their lives forevermore? I loved this book it's really close to the show. The author did a good job showing Dean's love for rock 'n' roll, and doing the dialog between the brothers. I also loved learning all about Poe's life. I can't wait for the next Supernatural book!”
