The beginning is slow and encompasses a little too much useless information. However, once the trial begins the pace of the story picks up. Overall, this is another successful Grisham novel which includes an interesting, sad court case.

I had read John Grisham's novels prior to this one, but this marked the moment that I actively wanted to become a lawyer. Despite the sad premise of the novel (with the main character being in the process of dying of cancer), this is a feel-good book that makes you feel there is still justice is this world- and this justice can be found not by fighting on the streets, but in the courtrooms of this world.

The first book I read from John Grisham. Great Read. Hereafter, I have many subsequent books from him.

Suspenseful story written with humor. Could relate well to Rudy being fresh out of school and having no idea what he was doing. Really enjoyed the story even though the reader could tell that the verdict was a sure thing. Little disappointed in the "riding off into the sunset" ending.

Not Grisham's best work, but still a pretty good story.
