- Maximum Ride (aka Max): A half-human half-bird crossbreed. She has a incredible sense of leadership, and is very protective of the flock. She cares deeply for Angel, and is the oldest in the flock.
- Max: She is tough, sarcastic, and can kick anyone's butt, true datt. End up falling for fang.
- Fang: Fang is Max's on-and-off again boyfriend. But when Angel predicts he will die first, he runs away.
- Ella: a little girl max saves, then becomes great friends
- Gasman: a little boy who is part of the flock his biological sister is angel and he is smelly, but the craziest of the flock
- Celeste: angels teddy that she used mind control powers to get, and it reminded her of herself, she never left it behind
- Dr. Martinez: a veterinarian who helps max, and also turns out to be friends
- Max: She is tough, sarcastic, and can kick anyone's butt.
- Maximum Ride (Max): Max is really funny. Along with her strong personality, her leadership role in the Flock, she manages to stay strong and add in some humor into any situation. This series is by the perspective of Max, so you will understand. ;D
- Batchelder: He is max's father like friend who she thinks betrayed her but he never did
- Ari: A mean to the end guy whois7 but with his short life, looks 20. Turns on the good side though
