Kind of typical John Grisham only this time it's real.

Great book. Made even greater because it is a true story.

Excellent read! Reads more like a novel than a work of nonfiction.

I really enjoyed reading this first non-fiction book of John Grisham. I did not imagine an injustice like the one told in this book to happen in this great country.

Grisham's first non-fiction effort. I found it to be a recitation of facts gleaned from his extensive research of an innocent man, tried, convicted, and found guilty of murder. The man was subsequently retried and found not guilty, but not before his life was ruined.

Reading The Innocent Man was a painful experience for me, because my daughter shares many of the same mentally ill traits that Ron Williamson had. I am only thankful that she has not, to date, abused drugs or alcohol; or been caught in the same miscarriages of justice that Williamson was. Grisham's book The Chamber had already altered my thinking on the death penalty--this true story reinforced the change.

A tragic and sad true story told beautifully by Grisham....

This was not my favorite John Grisham book. A very sad book, it is scary to think that this could happen to anyone. Worth the read.

This is the only book written by John Grisham that I have ranked lower than four stars. The only reason it is ranked lower is because of the story itself, not Grisham's writing (which is superb, as always.) The book is incredibly depressing because the man whose life the book profiles is a mess. I prefer Grisham's fiction writing.

As a lifelong journalist, I have seen how dysfunctional our system of justice can be and wished I could write a book like this to debunk naive views held widely in society. Grisham's nonfiction is scarier than his ficiton and what a reporter this man makes!
