“This is a fitting sequel, a more than adequate sequel to the first book, "Blood Song," in Cat Adams' "Blood Singer" series. It does more than continue to develop the promise of that first book, it begins to deliver on the promise. This book is full of surprises and plot twists that kept this reader turning pages long after it was time for "lights out." Okay, so another author owes me sleep, not unusual for me.
Faced almost immediately with heart-breaking abandonment, Celia, our heroine, sets out to find out just who and what she is and the answers start to come fast and furiously. Not that she can decipher those answers right away. She's facing evaluation for a potential life-long commitment. She doesn't know for sure just who are her friends and who are not.
I'm not one to summarize plots but this one is a great one because it is actually two consecutive plots, interweaving and keeping both Celia and the reader guessing. No sooner has Celia discovered that due to conditions of her murdered friend's will, she is not only quite wealthy, she now has new enemies, and dangerous ones at that, she faces her legal evaluation and then is off to "Serenity Island," the home of the Sirens, where she faces new allies and new enemies. The plot becomes fascinating at this point and Cat Adams' skill at creating characters who truly draw the reader into the story in a caring way shines here.
As she faces attempts to kill her and faces challenges due to her Siren blood, she also learns what it means to be a Siren.
The confrontations are believable and riveting; the fighting fast and furious enough to make the reader want to duck for safety.
Since this is only book two of a series with at least two more volumes, "Siren Song" can't possibly tie everything up in a nice bow and send the reader off to close the book and live happily ever after. Ms Adams does a great job of closing out some of the puzzles left hanging in the first book, but creates enough new ones to get at least this reader excited about the next volume. This is a series worth reading; it is a great addition to a growing genre and I consider it top-tier in that genre. Highly recommended.”

“This is the 2nd novel in Cat Adams (aka CT Adams and Cathy Clamp) Blood Singer series. It picks up right after the first Novel "Blood Song" left off. So if you haven't read that book, please don't read anymore: major spoilers! ****************spoilers******************** Bodyguard Celia Graves (who works in Hollywood, CA) had survived a vampire attack while she was guarding a visiting prince from a middle eastern country, but he wasn't as he seemed. Before the attack, she thought she was an ordinary human, who happened to have a Clairvoyant for a best friend, and a ghostly little sister. Since she survived the attack, she is now considered an Abomination (which she really hates that term!). Sunlight is painful to her, and she can't eat solid foods anymore. The one thing: she still has her soul, and is not considered undead. There are plenty of people who want to see her dead. She also discovered a hidden part of her heritae, she is also part Siren. She has the ability to enthrall men, and enrage women without trying very hard. After her best friend Vicki's murder (which is still unsolved), Celia was sent to stay at a psychiatric facility (of her choice luckily) while awaiting trial to determine if she's a danger to society (the Abomination thing), or if she'll be able to go free to live her life. On top of everything else, she's being summoned to another trial (and duel) on Siren's Island to determine if the Siren's think she should live or not. There seems to be plenty of people who want her dead, and even the cops don't like her much! Also, a surprise visit from another bodyguard adds another twist in her life... but this might be a good twist! This is a fast paced story with lots of plot twists, and even her love life has complications thrown in the mix! I really like the main character, and found myself rooting with her, even with the odds stacked against her! A cliffhanger of an ending left me wanting more, so I need to put in a request for the 3rd book "Demon Song" at the library!”Lynda T wrote this review Sunday, July 10, 2011. “This book is the continuation from the first book Blood Song. This books talks about how Celia Graves adapts to her new found powers; being a siren, half human and half vampire. Most of the people think that she should be in jail or even staked. She has been challenged to a fight for her life on the Siren's Island.
On that island, she finds out about her best friend's murder and her baby sister Ivy's murder. Her ex-lover leaves her again, for Irene ( also known as Ren ) as she is pregnant. But this is all an trap to anger Celia to do something bad, so that the police can arrest her and keep her locked up for her entire life.”
“yummy book! can't wait for number 3! this book even better than book number 1, and i hear that there will be at least 4 in the series. worth the read, very imaginative, and i just loved all the characters.”carol e wrote this review Saturday, January 8, 2011.
