  • Charlotte Silver: Main character. Her parents are famous ghost debunkers and move around a lot because of their job. Charlotte often wishes for a normal life.
  • Annalise Silver: Charlotte's older sister who she considers a good friend because of their moving around a lot. She is very sensitive to residual energy and is often used as bait to lure out "ghosts." currently attending the College of Charleston.
  • Avery: A cheerleader who lives in Charlotte's new neighborhood. She and Charlotte begome friends almost instantly.
  • Shane: A member of Charlotte's parents' ghost debunking team since the very beginning. He is like an uncle to Charlotte.
  • Jared James: A cute but dissheveled boy who goes to Charlotte's new school. Everyone avoids him, though Charlotte doesn't know why.
  • Adam: Charlotte's boyfriend.
  • Callie: A cheerleader and good friend of Avery's.
  • Bliss Reynolds: A girl obsessed with being the anchor in the AV club's daily news. She is paranoid that Charlotte is going to take that position from her, though Charlotte prefers to stay behind the scenes.
  • Noah: A junior in Charlotte's AV class.
