Cassandra continues to be an enjoyable character with just the right mix of humanity and inhumanity in her personality to make her an intriguing protagonist. Where the first book was about Cassandra finding her place, here she and her friends are trying to define what this place is in the face of a drastically shifting political background that is always there, but never overwhelms the other subplots taking place. Well worth the read.”
