“I think it's time to admit to myself that The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series are just not for me. I suppose it's not a secret I'm not a huge fan of Cassandra Clare's work, but I won't deny that there were some things I did enjoy with each series. However, this was a disappointing...”see full review » see other reviews »

“Clockwork Prince is the second book in the Infernal Devices series and is about the same people as in the book Clockwork Angel. Tessa, Will, and Jem are a team now and they always work together. Charlotte is sort of against this, but Tessa and Jem are able to get around her. Will is still in love with Tessa, but Tessa has mixed feelings because whenever she opens up her heart to him, she always regrets it. Jem and Tessa start really liking each other and Will is very jealous but Tessa and Jem don't notice. ”Ann M. wrote this review 11 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Incredible plot line, never going where you think it might. A love triangle develops between the three most unlikely people. ”Arianna Curley wrote this review Wednesday, October 30, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Clockwork Prince is the second book in the series of The Infernal Devices. This 502 paged book leads off from where Clockwork Angel last left off. Let’s just get into the review.
My thoughts throughout the book drove me crazy. I seemed to find this book more negative rather than a positive. About half way through the book I began to get irritated. Tessa just pissed me off most of the time with her whole love triangle thing. I just felt like she couldn’t choose a side to which guy she wants to be with until Spoiler alert Jem proposes to her. Which was a let down. I never got a romance vibe from then until he proposed… which made the relationship a complete and total rush. Also the last chapter of this book was just a pure let down. I really didn't care for it and there really wasn’t anything special that I felt about it. I did however really enjoy the very last page that left me off with suspense that the final book (Clockwork Princess) could have an awesome ending to this series. One positive I did find with this book was the amount of detail she put into this book. For example in Chapter 9 on page 187 in the third paragraph, it is so detailed and I love that it gives you a true feeling of the era.
By the time that it is all said and done, this book did not impress me whatsoever. I felt the whole book was lacking, and the "love triangle" part drove me insane. I sadly felt nothing special about this book, which is a shame, since I thought the first book, was pretty awesome and amazing. I don’t really understand all the hype for this book. I can only have hope that Clockwork Princess will be better and not such a let down. My rating for this book is 3/5 stars.”
“This series is seriously lacking. This is another example of a 500 page book where nothing notable really happens. I can't wait to finish this trilogy so I can get back to the other series she has written.”Joe B wrote this review Sunday, October 13, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I love this series. I was not disappointed by this sequel at all. I loved how we uncovered more of the story and that a few of the mysteries were unveiled.
Will - You love him - he annoys u, intrigues u and reels u in. U want to shake some sense into him and yet u want to figure him out. What curse? What's he hiding? So many questions! In this book you finally start understanding Will a more. You feel his pain and joy.
Jem - oh Jem! He makes me feel warm and fuzzy, and I love his character more with every chapter. He is still my favourite character in the series and he is that good person you just want to protect and cannot help loving this swoon-worthy character.
Tessa - You want her to figure out Will and break down his walls, yet at the same time you're rooting for Jem! Tessa is soft, kind, funny and strong. She has definitely grown in this book and I cannot wait to see how things develop in Clockwork Princess.
Magnus, Charlotte, Henry, Sophie, Jessamine - Most of these characters are so loveable and each brings their own appeal to the story. The only character I didn't not really like but felt so sorry for was Jessamine.
Plot, writing style, Cover: 5/5
The Plot is captivating and well paced. Cassandra Clare knows how to capture her audience and write a brilliant story. The characters are well developed and her writing captures your imagination. I LOVED this cover, as I did the previous one, and as I will most likely love the next one.
I am not sure how much more I can say without including spoilers so I leave you with this: Clockwork Prince is a brilliant captivating read!”
