The wild cat Clans have lived in peace and harmony for many moons- but now, strange messages from their warrior ancestors speak of terrifying new prophecies and a mysterious danger.
All the signs point to young warrior Brambleclaw as the cat with the fate of the forest in his paws. But who are the other cats mentioned in the prophecy? All he knows for sure is that the strength and courage of the greatest warriors will be needed now, as the quest to save the Clans begins.

He tried hard, for he thought danger would come to the Clan if they could see each other. After many attempts to keep the two cats away from each other, he failed. Firestar was very stressed out after the disappearance, and sent many patrols out to find the two. At the end of Midnight, Firestar and a couple other cats witnessed one of the first monsters that traveled away from the Thunderpath, and sent the first damage to ThunderClan territory.

  • Sorreltail: Brambleclaw reveals that Sorrelpaw was hit by a Twoleg monster. It was only a glancing blow to her shoulder, but it was enough to keep her in Cinderpelt's den for three moons. During her absence from training, her brothers Rainpaw and Sootpaw become warriors, their warrior names being Rainwhisker and Sootfur. Sorrelpaw becomes a warrior early in this book, being named Sorreltail. She is good friends with Leafpaw because of being in her den so long, and helps her when she can. She later accompanies Leafpaw when she collects celandine near the RiverClan border.

  • Highrock: A big rock in ThunderClan that overlooks the rest of the camp. This is where the ThunderClan leader makes their announcements.

  • ShadowClan: One of the Clans in the forest. ShadowClan hunt by night in the marshes. The most secretive and aggressive of the Clans. Eat rats, frogs, and mice.
  • Snakerocks: Rocks and caves where adders hide. This is where Tigerstar sheltered his dog pack, and where a badger now lives.
  • WindClan: One of the Clans in the forest. WindClan live on the moor, with barely any cover. They hunt mainly rabbits. Extremely windy and high, making them feel closest to StarClan.
  • Barley's Barn: A barn where the loners Barely and Ravenpaw live. The Twolegs don't mind them staying there because they keep down the rodent population. The loners are known by nearly all of the Clans, and will shelter the Clan cats whenever they pass through.
  • Sun-drown-place: The place where the sun sinks drowns each day into the water. Some how the large ball of fire manages to catch fire again and rise. To the Twolegs, the Ocean
  • StarClan: The Clan that hunts in the skies, most clearly seen at night in the Silverpelt. All Clan cats go here when they die, exept for the evil cats, such as Tigerstar.

  • Foxdung: A semi-mild swear word.
  • Fresh-kill: Recently killed prey.
  • Gatherings: A meeting of all four Clans held at Fourtrees every full moon. A truce is held between all Clans while the moon is in the sky.
  • Greencough: Severe chest infection. The quickest working cure is catmint.
  • Greenleaf: Summer.
  • Twolegplace: A place where multiple humans live.
  • Halfbridge: A dock.
  • Housefolk: A kittypet's words for their humans.
  • Leaf-bare: Winter. When the trees are bare and snow litters the ground.
  • Leaf-Fall: Fall/Autumn. When the leaves are colorful and just beginning to fall off.
  • Kittypet: A house cat
  • Monster: Any type of car.

  • Rogue: A cat that doesn't live with Twolegs and doesn't live in the Clans. Are troublesome and hostile.
  • Sharing Tongues: Term used to describe cats grooming each other
  • Silverpelt: The stars. It is believed that every star in Silverpelt is a StarClan warrior.
  • Thunderpath: A road.
  • Sun-Drown-place: The sea to the west. Where the sun sets and turns the water to a dazzling red.
  • Sunhigh: When the sun is highest in the sky.
  • Tree-eater: Bulldozer
  • Twoleg: The Clan cats name for humans.
  • Twoleg nest: A human house
  • Upwalker: Kittypet word for Humans
  • Whitecough: Mild chest infection. If not treated can turn into greencough.
