This is McCall's first foray into fiction and he has done an outstanding job of character development and setting his tale in Atlanta's old Fourth Ward. After completing the book last week, I actually found myself driving down Auburn Avenue, cutting up Hilliard and feeling the story of the lives of people who live there now and those who are beginning to move into the old neighborhood where MLK Jr. grew up.

I just finished and I really enjoyed this book. It was an eye opener. I had to sit back and really think about some things. Gentrification has started in the Detroit area. I am interested to see how it all plays out.
This was my first time reading Nathan McCall, I plan to read other books by him. I also got a chance to hear him read and speak recently. He was very interesting too!

Looking for a good book? Pick this one up.
