I'm familiar with the area and the neighborhood he's talking about here and found myself on the third chapter before I left the bookstore with it.It's a really excellent take on the gentrification that's happened in Atlanta and I can see how even if a reader wasn't from the area, this book would resonate. The characters were real, recognizable, even if at times you didn't want them to be stereotypical (even as they struggled not to be).

I just finished and I really enjoyed this book. It was an eye opener. I had to sit back and really think about some things. Gentrification has started in the Detroit area. I am interested to see how it all plays out.
This was my first time reading Nathan McCall, I plan to read other books by him. I also got a chance to hear him read and speak recently. He was very interesting too!

Looking for a good book? Pick this one up.
